This past Tuesday, we were honored to welcome Superintendent Keith Burton to our agenda. As the Caddo Parish School Superintendent, Mr. Burton shared important updates about the proposal to transform Donnie Bickham Middle into a PreK-8 campus and consolidate Blanchard Elementary to accommodate our community's anticipated growth.
Superintendent Burton introduced the newly appointed Donnie Bickham Middle School Principal, Mr. Dennis Spires, and presented renderings of the proposed new PreK-3 building. These plans, while still under discussion, also include improved ingress and egress from La. 1 to alleviate traffic congestion on Old Mooringsport.
During the meeting, I expressed the Town’s interest in exploring opportunities to utilize the Blanchard Elementary School facility. We look forward to continuing these discussions for the benefit of our growing community.
